Tappet Cover Oil Seal Leak

A common leak on the mgb and a lot of work to replace the seal. Carburettors off and inlet manifold to get to it – but got there in the end.
Whilst the carbs were off i checked the butter fly valves and found one was not closing fully (using feeler gauges) which explained why the tick over was so high with the adjuster screws fully unscrewed.

I noted that the exhaust manifold was the earlier thick flange type – will replace it with the correct thin type in the future – added to auto jumble shopping list.
